WEEK ENDING: December 19th, 2014

Camille Cosby is standing by her man. The past couple of months have been brutal for The Cosbys as they deal with the accusations of Bill Cosby, 77, drugging and raping women that stretch back close to 50 years. Cosby has never been charged with a crime. Last week, the number of women grew with Supermodel Beverly Johnson making claims that Cosby tried to attack her after drugging her coffee. Johnson says they were alone in his New York home when the incident happened. She says he had promised her a role on his famed Cosby Show, at that time the number one show on TV. Camille Cosby released a statement saying the media and people shouldn’t rush to judgment on her husband by women with unproven claims. Cosby and his wife Camille will celebrate 51 years of marriage this January. Bill Cosby also spoke briefly to a reporter saying his wife is a strong woman, and that black media should remain neutral and uphold journalistic standards during this crisis. The Cosby's youngest daughter Evin also spoke out on social media. Evin says Cosby is the dad people thought before the accusations and called The Cosby Show her reality show. The Cosby family is gathering around Bill, but these allegations have definitely damaged his legacy. What does the future hold for Cosby?. Should black media remain neutral? A few years ago, Cosby would not let up on his criticism of the black family and placing blame on single moms. Should black media treat Cosby differently? Is Cosby wrong for blaming the media for his troubles? Are some of the women lying for personal gain, or could it be where there's smoke, there's fire?!!!

Meanwhile, definitely at the movies this week is Annie. Oscar Winner Jamie Foxx and Oscar Nominee Quvenzhane Wallis are co-starring in the newest big screen version of the Broadway classic. Denzel Washington is the latest entertainer to be swept up into the Sony email hacking scandal. The Oscar winning actor is the subject of some executives who believe Washington's films don't do well in foreign markets because he's black. The executives allegedly expressed that in their emails despite living in an era where the first African American President was elected twice handily As of press time, no response from Washington, whose latest $100 million plus hit, The Equalizer, comes out on DVD December 30th. Philly's own Kevin Hart dealt with email-gate already. Another set of leaked emails from yet another Sony Pictures executive called him a money whore. Hart released a statement basically saying he's worked hard to earn and protect his brand and he just brushes off ignorance. Go 'head Nephew! He returns to the big screen January 16th with The Wedding Ringer. More fallout from the hacking is still to come after entire films were leaked to the internet for free. The film that supposedly spawned the hacking was a satire taking shots at North Korea. That film called The Interview with Seth Rogan and James Franco got it's released date cancelled due to security concerns.

Congratulations to Singer/Songwriter Bill Withers. Withers, 77, is finally being inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame with the class of 2015. A lot of people are still talking about her NBC Christmas Show performance where someone leaked her strained vocals. Is Carey's current divorce from hubby Nick Cannon affecting her this way? Is she cracking under the stress of another broken marriage and now a faltering career? Let’s hope Carey can get it together because she is one of the greatest singers of our generation.

We're also asking if former Spice Girl Mel B okay as well? At a recent taping of the British reality show The X Factor, Mel showed up battered and bruised. Top executives have exposed themselves as deliberately not giving movie product their 100% support when people of color are involved. Now the Stars are quietly using this to campaign for replacements for these top executives. Is a power play coup in the works...... lead by your favorite all-stars of color?
