PATTY JACKSON'S 4-1-1
WEEK ENDING: August 28th, 2015

Terrence Howard is on a roll…..in court. First, he scored a big court victory this week when a judge ruled in his favor. Howard will not have to give ex-wife #2 Michelle Ghent more money for alimony for their short-lived marriage. The judge agreed that Howard was being blackmailed and signed his divorce decree under duress. The Empire star was giving his ex almost $6,000 a month, and she still wanted more. Ghent was threatening to release videos and photos of Howard in compromising position. Howard’s sister-in-law reportedly testified they were sex videos. Howard and Ghent had no children, and now Howard is going to have to work out a new agreement from scratch, but Ghent will definitely get less money this go round. It’s been a rough summer for Howard because case number two is wife #3 Miranda. Miranda married Howard in 2013 and gave birth to his son Qirin Love, but the couple separated shortly after. Their divorce was quiet and quick. Now what’s Howard’s deal? Are The Intruders right? Is Love Like A Baseball Game With Three Strikes and You’re Out?!!!! In better news, Howard has also been hard at work filming for the new season of Empire, but reports are his role been reduced. It’s probably because of all the court appearances, so look for his character Lucious Lyon to bounce back as the season progresses. The cast of Empire, which has its season premiere September 23rd, are currently featured in the latest issue of Vogue magazine.

Chaka Khan and Paula Deen are coming to Dancing With The Stars! Hmmmmmmm, let’s start with Chaka Khan. The songstress has lost weight, kept it off and is currently touring sounding excellent. Her good friends Patti LaBelle and Gladys Knight were on DWS. The ladies didn’t win, but they were a hit the audience and their fan bases increased. Can Chaka make it Through The Fire of the dancing competition. Speaking of fire, Paula Deen is continuing on her comeback by competing on the show. Her once successful and highly rated cooking and food shows got pulled after two controversial hits, her diabetes reveal and her use of the N-word confession. Deen’s done apology tours and interviews, but this will be her highest profile to date. Can Deen build back her brand with a friendly appearance on Dancing With The Stars. The official cast introduction will happen on September 2nd and the Dancing With The Stars season premiere airs Monday, September 14th on ABC.

Judge Joe Brown is going to jail!!! Yes. The TV star, who had his own courtroom show and never held back on his opinions, is now on the other side of the law. Brown was found in contempt of court while he was helping a woman with a child custody case. After he had a verbal altercation with the presiding magistrate, Brown was charged with contempt. The TV judge recently lost appeal, so he’s expected to serve a five-day sentence.

Will Bill Cosby play the race card? Sources say this is what Cosby is planning to do in defense of the close to 50 drug, assault and rape allegations he’s facing. Despite being a legendary TV icon, the scandal has been one of Hollywood’s biggest and has resulted in the comedian’s TV and comedy appearances virtually disappearing and his contracts cancelled. So far the total of number of women is 50 who have come forward with tales of being assaulted, drugged and/or raped by the Cosby dating back to the 1960’s. The majority of the women were white, and sources say he will claim he is the victim of a racially tinged witch-hunt. Cosby legal team member Lawyer Monique Pressley has already suggested that based on the history of this country, it’s incredible to think that no one would have believed white women accusing a black man of rape, especially because most of these alleged encounters happened over 30 years ago.

Reverend Al moves to Sundays. Sharpton’s MSNBC show Politics Nation will move out of its Monday through Friday 6pm slot September 4th and will relocate to Sundays at 8am. NBC Political commentator Chuck Todd is expected to get the 5pm slot, and MSNBC is delaying the announcement on who’ll take Rev. Al’s slot.  Is it because Obama is leaving office soon? Could it be the cable outlet is making room for NBC Nightly News ex-Anchor Brian Williams? For now, Rev. Al has released a statement that he’s happy with the move because he always wanted to be a Sunday morning host and now he can get the A-Listers he wants.

Jane Seymour and Comedians Fred Willard and Affion Crockett have also joined the cast.

The cast of Star Trek is getting ready to celebrate 50 years. Back in 1966, it was Comedy Icon and then owner of Desilu Studios Lucille Ball who gave the green light to put Gene Roddenberry’s Star Trek concept on TV. The original show became a classic for all generations and starred William Shatner and the late Leonard Nimoy. The current cast includes Zoë Saldana and Idris Elba who’ll both appear in Star Trek Beyond hitting theaters in 2016 for the anniversary.
