Meanwhile former View Co Host is battling the battle of the bulge again. The Tabloids have been following Star Jones on the beach and recent photos show Jones with weight gain. In 2003 Jones underwent Gastric Bypass surgery and over the course of three years she lost 160 pounds. According to published reports Jones has regained 80 of those pounds back. Now that the tabloids are publicly embarrassing her, what will she do to stop gaining weight?

More drama on the ABC talker The View and this time ABC Execs have eggs on their faces. A few weeks ago they attempted to push Rosie Perez out the door. Perez took a month long hiatus to do a Broadway show with Larry David. Well ABC Execs tried to come up with a plan for Perez to leave but their plan leaked out to the press. None of the staffers on the show knew of their plans and it caused quite a backlash amongst the ladies - Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie O’Donnell and Nicole Wallace. O’Donnell was particularly upset because she is very close to Perez and feels as though she is in charge of the show. Since the beginning of the new season the ratings for the View have been terrible and the fighting between Whoopi and Rosie O’Donnell hasn’t helped. Producers are not happy with the current group on The View. Rosie Perez returns on Monday February 3rd. She will finish out the rest of the season knowing that Producers were making plans for her to leave. Will Execs cancel the show or get a new group of ladies…only time will tell as The View turns.

Terry McMillan says don’t look for a movie sequel to Waiting to Exhale based on her bestselling book. McMillan says the death of Whitney Houston basically killed any chances of doing the movie because it would be hard to replace her or kill off the popular Savannah character.

The Lifetime Network scored another smash with the Tracey Edmonds produced movie With This Ring. Millions tuned in to see the movie that Starred Regina Hall, Jill Scott, Eve, Brooklyn Sudano and Stephen Bishop. Lifetime is on a roll with their movie lineup. Saturday February 7th it’s the movie Mega Church Murder starring Malcolm-Jamal Warner, Romeo Miller and Tamala Jones. On Saturday February 14th it’s the movie Back to School Mom starring Kimberly Elise, Loretta Devine and Garcelle Beauvais and Rick Fox.

31 years ago the Blockbuster movie Ghostbusters had us all asking, “Who you gonna call?” Well now we can call the ladies because here comes the female Ghostbusters. Melissa McCarthy (Mike and Molly), Leslie Jones (Top Five, Saturday Night Live) and Kristen Wiig and Kate McKinnon from Saturday Night Live will be chasing and finding Ghosts. The original 1984 movie starred Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, Rick Moranis and Annie Potts.

Could Ava DuVernay and David Oyelowo be the new power duo? First the director and actor came together for Middle of Nowhere. More recently they collaborated on the film Selma. The word is that the two will next team up for a love story and murder mystery during the time of Hurricane Katrina.

The Trumpet Awards are airing on TV One Saturday February 21st. Honorees include The Isley Brothers, Jamie Foxx and Janelle Monae.

Actor Michael B. Jordan is in Philly filming the Rocky sequel, Creed. Jordan is best known for his role in the movie Fruitvale Station and this summer he returns to the big screen in the movie Fantastic Four. In the Rocky sequel, Creed, Jordan plays the grandson of Rocky opponent Apollo Creed, now being trained by Rocky. Sylvester Stallone returns as Rocky and Phylicia Rashad will be play his grandmother.

Are you a fan of the Rush Hour movie? The 1998 classic starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. Although there’s no word on who will tackle the roles of Carter and Lee, The CBS Network is planning a TV series based on the movie.

Singer Tyrese wants to be a Superhero. Tyrese is lobbying for the part of the Green Lantern in the new Justice League movie. Tyeese is best known for his work in the Fast and the Furious movies and he says it’s about time for more black superheroes. Tyrese’s latest Fast and the Furious movie opens in theatres April 3rd with the late Paul Walker. He is also working on a new music project.

ABC is ordering a new show from Shonda Rhimes.With the success of Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How To Get Away with Murder, Rhimes is putting together a new drama called The Catch, slated to premiere next season. The show is about a female forensic accountant who exposes fraud for a living.

There’s a brother hosting a late night show! Larry Wilmore is best known as the creator and Emmy Award-winning head writer of The Bernie Mac Show and the Senior Black Correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Wilmore is replacing Stephen Colbert on the Comedy Central Network with The Nightly Show, which air weeknights at 11:30pm. Colbert left the network to prepare to take over hosting duties from the departing David Letterman on CBS. Colbert takes over in September. So far critics are enjoying Wilmore, who premiered in late night with no fan fare. Although now, Wilmore’s gaining some press by going in on Bill Cosby and those rape allegations.

After the success of the live television musicals The Sound Of Music and Peter Pan, the NBC Network is moving ahead with plans for more. Getting the TV make over will be two 1978 movie musical classics: Grease, which starred John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, and The Wiz, which starred Diana Ross, Richard Pryor, Lena Horne and Michael Jackson.

Katt Williams is coming back to town Friday March 13th at the Liacouras Center.

She raked in a lot of money for Annie, but Actress Quvenzhane Wallis is taking a pay cut for her next movie. Wallis is set to appear in the movie Fathers And Daughters with Oscar Winner Russell Crowe. The upshot is Wallis’ deal calls for her to get a bonus if that movie grosses $35 million and more bonuses for every $5 million after. Wallis' current film Annie, co-starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz, has grossed over $82 million at the box office so far.

Nick Cannon has filed for Divorce from Mariah Carey. Lawyers for the couple are working out the details because at stake is a lot of money and the custody of their twins. Carey and Cannon have signed confidentiality agreements not talk about their marriage and what went wrong. If Carey talks, she will have pay Cannon $500,000, and if Cannon talks, he will have to pay Carey $250,000. Carey recently signed a deal with Caesars Palace in Las Vegas to do a residency there (a series of shows a la Britney Spears and Elton John). She is replacing Celine Dion, who took a leave of absence from performing to care for her ailing husband. Mariah Carey will be performing in May and July.

Tickets are on sale now for the Mother’s Day Music Festival. Saturday May 9th at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Ron Isley and The Isley Brothers, Babyface, Fantasia and Eric Benet will all be hitting the stage.

HBO is putting together a new series, Brothers in Atlanta. Produced by Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels, the new series will star newcomers Diallo Riddle and Bashir Salahuddin. Jaden Smith and Maya Rudolph will also appear on the show.
