Talking Tour 2011

about backstreet boys

Backstreet Boys is an American pop vocal group, formed in Orlando, Florida in 1993. The band originally consisted of A. J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Brian Littrell, Nick Carter and Kevin Richardson. Richardson left the group in 2006 to pursue other interests, leaving the band as a four-piece, but the remaining members did not rule out a possible return of the singer. They rose to fame with their debut album, Backstreet Boys (1996). The following album, Backstreet's Back (1997) continued the group's success worldwide. They rose to superstardom with their album Millennium (1999) and its follow-up album, Black & Blue (2000). After a three-year hiatus, the band regrouped and have since released three albums: Never Gone (2005), Unbreakable (2007) and This Is Us (2009).

New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys are teaming up for a joint tour, called NKOTBSB!

The two bands will perform beginning in the summer of 2011 - and tickets go on sale later this month on Ticketmaster!

It was also announced today that both groups will hit the stage together on the 2010 American Music Awards on ABC on Sunday, November 21.

New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys on one stage is something special. Moments like these are what the AMAs are all about,” AMA producer Larry Klein said.

The ultimate boy band tour could be coming soon to an arena near you. New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys are close to signing a deal with Live Nation Entertainment which could lead to a joint tour as early as March 2011, E! News reports.

The members of NKOTB and BSB may be recording a single together before the proposed tour. While Live Nation has not commented on the tour, the company is also said to be looking for a third group to round out the tour, with Boyz II Men at the top of the wish list.

"The idea is to recreate the boy band phenomenon," says a source close to the negotiations. "It will be the ultimate ladies' night out."

The boy bands first teamed up last June during a Radio City Music Hall performance. At the concert, New Kids on the Block joined the Backstreet Boys (sans Kevin Richardson, who left the band in 2006) for a rendition of the latter's smash hit "I Want It That Way."
