IL DIVO

"Wicked Game" TOUR 2012

Il Divo put a fresh face on popular songs, utilizing their exceptional voices, good looks, and cultural diversity to bring their romantic blend of classical and pop music to audiences around the world. Formed after a two-year search, the quartet is comprised of American tenor David Miller, popular French singer S bastien Izambard, Swiss tenor Urs Buhler, and Spanish baritone Carlos Marin. Their eponymous debut album was released in April of 2005 and featured a diverse play list that included a cover of the Toni Braxton hit "Unbreak My Heart" and the Frank Sinatra standard "My Way," as well as "Nella Fantasia," a newly arranged -- with vocals -- version of "Gabriel's Oboe" from Ennio Morricone's score for The Mission. It became a massive worldwide hit, and the quartet returned in 2005 with Ancora, a ten-track collection of new music featuring the hit "I Believe in You" with Celine Dion. The similarly themed Siempre arrived in 2006, followed by Promise in 2008.

Orchestral pop quartet Il Divo has added new dates to its upcoming tour of the US and Canada in support of the group's latest studio effort, "The Promise".

The North American portion of the world tour, which gets underway in Europe late next month, kicks off April 28 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, hitting several Canadian cities before setting up shop on the US East Coast. The new bookings extend the 40-plus-date tour through late July. Details are below.

Released late last year, "The Promise" debuted at No. 1 in five countries and entered the US album chart at No. 5. The set features versions of Frankie Goes to Hollywood's "The Power of Love," Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" and ABBA's "Winner Takes It All."

The new album comes after a nearly year-long break that followed three years of non-stop work. Since being brought together in 2004 by Simon Cowell of "American Idol" fame, American tenor David Miller, French pop singer Sebastien Izambard, Swiss tenor Urs Buhler and Spanish baritone Carlos Marin have traveled all over the world,

"We felt calling the album 'The Promise' really echoed our sentiments about making a pledge to our fans, by taking a break and promising to return with an album better than any we have before," Izambard said in a statement.
